Dog Waste Facilities

Broadhempston Dog Waste Facilities

Concerns have recently been raised by members of the public about dog waste in the village. The Parish Council have taken a number of steps to encourage dog walkers and owners to pick up after their dogs, including:

  • We have placed a number of 3D-printed dog waste bag dispensers around the village, so you’ll have access to a bag if you forget to take one with you. The dispensers can be seen on the map above (as well as the existing dog waste bin and public litter bins where bagged dog waste can be left).

  • We investigated whether we could place dog waste bins around the village. However, the cost of this would be prohibitive.
  • We have printed a number of stickers that you can place on your black bin to show that you are happy to have bagged dog waste left in it. These stickers are available in the village shop. There are a number of these around the village already, but there are more available. Please consider putting one on your black bin, even if it only goes out on the street for half a day. It’s still helpful and a good reminder for people if nothing else.

  • Teignbridge District Council’s (TDC’s) Environmental Protection team have provided us with additional dog waste signs, which we have erected around the village.
